BLOOD IN THE WATER Releases 'Just Before Dawn' EP

May 12, 2008

Tampa, Florida-based melodic death metallers BLOOD IN THE WATER have uploaded six brand-new tracks from their debut EP, "Just Before Dawn". Check them out at this location. The EP was recorded and mixed in late 2007/early 2008 at Erik Rutan's Mana Recording Studios by producer/engineer Brian Elliott, and was mastered at West West Side Music. It features Mike Oliviero of VAINGLORY and IRRATIONAL on drums.

"We really wanted to work with Brian based on the work that he had done with other local bands like CATALEPSY and FATAL," says guitarist Barry Pinto. "We got lucky and he was able to squeeze us in right before he started working on the new FROM BLOOD AND BURNING. Considering that all of the music was written in a single weekend, and we only had five or six days to track everything, we're satisfied with how it came out."

The EP has already garnered over 40,000 plays on MySpace and has been receiving mostly positive reviews from Tampa metal fans.

"We're from Tampa, but we're a lot more influenced by the Swedish style of death metal than bands like CORPSE or HATE ETERNAL," says Pinto.

The band is currently holding auditions for a new drummer, and will begin touring in support of the EP once the role has been filled.
